lots of times if I tell my boyfriend that I am proud of him for dealing with a situation, or that I’m sorry he’s having to deal with a situation, he will say “no it’s my own fault.” meaning that he feels like he doesn’t deserve praise or comfort for dealing with a situation that is his fault. (for example a financial problem caused or exacerbated by him having been too anxious or absentminded to deal with the situation sooner.) and I tell him this and I will tell y'all this, that I don’t believe that. I think you are even braver and stronger for taking steps to deal with a mess that is of or partly of your own creation, because you have to cope with guilt and shame on top of the thing itself, and because you’re fighting against the same ingrained dysfunction in yourself that caused the mess. that’s like the bravest and most constructive thing you can do and you should be proud and I am proud of you.

also, mistakes don’t mean you deserve to suffer

Ubers charge more if you order them from certain places, like bars where they know you have no choice if you’re drunk. Walk somewhere else just not anywhere that serves alcohol and then call for one. I’ve had my $40 dollar Uber go down to $20 before but it’s not always that dramatic.

That’s great information! Lumbridge home teleport costs 0gp every 30 minutes.

Anonymous asked:

wait did you actually name yourself after the Minerva Plate? Cuz honestly props for staying close on brand

doubleca5t:

I picked my name for a few reasons:

  • I met a girl in high school named Minh and thought it was a really cool name
  • I wanted a name that would abbreviate to Min because it’s a pun on my deadname
  • The Minerva Bustier/Minerva Plate is a piece of armor in a bunch of Final Fantasy games that’s only equipable by women, so naming myself after it seemed like a power move lol

wine for idiots

WHITE WINE

if you want to make a wine person very unhappy, say that a white wine they like “is giving me a little green bell pepper?”

RED WINE

honestly the only two questions you need to start credibly talking about red wine are “does it taste like red fruits (strawberry/cherry/raspberry) or black fruits (blackberry/plum)?” and “does it taste oaky (i.e. gently sweet and earthy in a way youd associate with coffee or chocolate or warming spices)

if its a fancy dry wine (not a dessert wine, not port, manischewitz or markovic) dont say "sweet,” say “juicy”

FIZZY WINE

if its red and fizzy its probably a lambrusco

if youre drinking champagne talk about the “minerality,” even chalk notes if youre feeling gutsy. you dont have to taste it just say it

ORANGE WINE

this is very trendy. youre gonna want to talk about its “funkiness.” if you use the term “gym socks” at the right time you will get a round of laughs or at least knowing nods. if you see shmutz in the bottom dont worry about it.

MISC

if you want a wine person to talk for a while and not ask you any questions just ask them how they feel about natural wine. theyll go on for a little and you can decide to agree or disagree based on how hot they are

I’m not saying he would win, but like….I get it

This is an interesting story because people my parents age are like “How dare he” and people my age are like “oh same”

What’s even more interesting is he’s not serious. In India there’s a culture of intense deference to parents. He believes that this is a very unhealthy way for people to live and so he’s using this court case as a way to tell people that the idea of “you must grovel in gratitude to your parents because they brought you into the world and fed and clothed you” is a bad thing and that parents have to feed and clothe you because it’s their damn job and they chose to have you.

He really gets on with his own parents and his mother has publicly voiced her support for him.

Tl;dr: This isn’t incel bullshit like the dude who’s parents evicted him last year, this is a political protest to unhealthy expectations parents have for their children even though he isn’t pressured into those expectations by his own parents.

One of life’s great joys is that the “reaction guys” 4 panel meme was also a big hit in Japan too, so you’ll often see anime or video games reference the meme.

It’s like, oh! I know that meme, we have that one too! Universal human connection, y'know?
